Risk Disclosure
Important Risk Warning — Please read this Risk Disclosure carefully before using HALO Trade Copier (the "Software") or any related services provided through halocopier.com (the "Site"). By using the Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted the risks described below.
1. Risk Disclosure Statement
Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
2. Key Risk Factors
- Substantial financial risk. Trading futures, forex, and other financial instruments involves substantial risk of loss and may not be suitable for all investors.
- Potential for total loss. You could lose all or more than your initial investment. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose.
- Leverage risk. High leverage can work against you as well as for you, potentially resulting in large losses relative to your initial investment.
- Market volatility. Financial markets can be extremely volatile. Rapid price movements, including those around news events, can result in significant losses and can prevent orders from being filled at expected prices.
- No guarantee of profits. No trading system, methodology, or software — including this Software — can guarantee profits or freedom from losses.
3. Risks Specific to Order Copying and Automation
- Execution discrepancies. Copied orders may fill at different prices, times, or quantities than the source order, and may not fill at all. Slippage, liquidity, and account-specific restrictions can create materially different results between accounts.
- Connectivity and latency. Copying depends on your internet connection, your browser, your PC, and the trading platform being available and responsive. An interruption at the wrong moment can delay, duplicate, or skip an order, or leave an account without its intended protective orders.
- Software and platform changes. The Software interacts with third-party platforms (such as Tradovate). Changes, updates, or outages on those platforms may break or degrade copying without warning; the Software is not responsible for, and cannot guarantee, compatibility at any given time.
- Configuration mistakes. Incorrect account selection, contract symbols, quantities, multipliers, or hedge-guard settings can produce unintended orders on unintended accounts. You are responsible for verifying every configuration and every order before submitting it.
- Automation safeguards are not infallible. Features such as hedge guard, scheduled flatten, and news alerts are aids, not guarantees. They may fail to detect a conflict, may act later than you expect, or may be blocked by the platform. They do not replace your own monitoring and risk management.
- Multiple-account and prop-firm risk. Running the same or opposite positions across accounts can violate the rules of a proprietary trading firm, broker, or exchange (for example, copy-trading or hedging restrictions, or consistency rules). It is your responsibility to know and comply with the rules that apply to each of your accounts.
4. Regulatory Considerations
Trading futures and forex may be subject to regulation by various agencies, including the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the National Futures Association (NFA), as well as regulators in your own jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The Software does not provide legal, regulatory, or compliance advice.
5. Professional Advice
Before engaging in trading activities, you should consult with a qualified financial advisor or other professional to determine whether trading is appropriate for your financial situation and investment objectives.
6. Software-Specific Considerations
- Software reliability. Desktop software, browser extensions, and web platforms may experience technical issues, updates, or compatibility problems that could affect trade execution.
- User responsibility. You are responsible for properly configuring and monitoring the Software to ensure it operates according to your trading intentions.
- System requirements. The Software requires proper system setup and maintenance to function correctly with your trading platforms.
- "As is" software. The Software is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. See the Terms of Service for the full disclaimer and limitation of liability.
7. Final Warning
Only trade with risk capital. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing your financial security or lifestyle. If you cannot afford to lose the money you are considering for trading, you should not trade.
Do not rely on the Software as your only risk control. Always monitor your accounts and positions directly on your trading platform.
